Part 1: The absolute must-haves
Evidence of Immigration Status in the UK
✅ The Non-Negotiables
- [ ] Valid passport - needs to be valid when they make the decision
- [ ] Current BRP or eVisa evidence - the card or share code, you gotta be legal
- [ ] All previous visas - ex-BRPs, ex-visas
- [ ] Completed online application - SET(O), SET(M), or SET(LR) depending on your route
- [ ] Application fee paid - it's expensive (£2,885 last we checked)
✅ English Language Proof (Pick ONE)
- [ ] SELT certificate - B1 level from an approved center (most common route)
- [ ] UK degree certificate - if it was taught in English
- [ ] Previous English test - if you already did one for another visa
- [ ] Passport from English-speaking country - some nationalities are exempt
✅ Life in the UK Test
- [ ] Valid Pass certificate - you have to take this test, no way around it
✅ Biometrics & Health Surcharge
- [ ] Biometric appointment - book this early, slots fill up fast
